RECENTLY PERFORMED

2010-2011

  1. February 27, 2010 Dance Bethesda.  KRD performed in a juried showcase of Washington DC area dance companies. The company performed Robert Battle’s Enter


  1. May 13, 2010 “Mind’s Wide Open: Celebrating Women in the Arts.”  KRD performed at the Torpedo Factory in Old Town Alexandria in conjunction with the Virginia-wide festival. This site-specific work included live music and invited the audience to view the work from the second level, looking down on the dancers and musicians.  This performance challenged the audience’s perspective of the dance and of this unique venue in the heart of Alexandria.


  1. June 17, 2010 Dance/USA Showcase.  KRD performed Path of Attraction at the Lansburgh Theatre during the 2010 Annual Conference.


  1. July 29, 2010 “Art in Balance: Rhythm and Repetition.” This site-specific project was in collaboration and response to Marsha Staiger and Alison Sigethy’s exhibition displayed in the Target Gallery.  The performance began outside the Torpedo Factory with a “kayak dance” in the Potomac River, choreographed by Reedy and performed by artist Sigethy. The dance experience then continued with six dancers, from the waterfront into the interior of the venue, surrounded by the artwork of Staiger and Sigethy, with live music performed by Jeff Franca.


  1. November 11-13, 2010: Mason Dance Company Fall Concert.  Karen Reedy premiered a new work for students of The School of Dance at George Mason University titled Shattered Illusions. (Harris Theater, Fairfax VA)


  1. December 3 and 4, 2010 : Georgetown University Dance Company: Fall Performance.  Students performed an excerpt from Karen Reedy’s “With Blinders On .” (Davis Performing Arts Center, Gonda Theatre, Washington DC)


  1. January 13, 2011: Torpedo Factory, Art League Gallery. Performance in response to Alison Sigethy’s exhibition, Understory.


  1. March 13, 2011: Open Rehearsal.  A behind the scenes look at KRD!  This rehearsal offered a firsthand look into the rehearsal process, followed by a meet & greet with the company and Karen Reedy. 


  1. April 18, 2011:  Kennedy Center Millennium Stage. DANCE IS THE ANSWER.  Performance included Reedy’s Variations, In Someone Else’s Dream, Shattered Illusions, the premiere of In Memory and These Hands choreographed by Elizabeth Shea.


  1. June 9, 2011: In The Flesh 3: Torpedo Factory Target Gallery.  Karla Wolfangle’s solo titled Madame X was performed by Constance Dinapoli.


  1. July 30 and 31, 2011: Dance Place. An evening that shows how choreography can be an eloquent and versatile language.


  1. December 1 and 15, 2011:  The KRD Studio Series @ Torpedo Factory: Thursdays (6-7:30 pm ) Studios: 307, 322 and 333
